Pause Before I Speak

This recent days, I just realized. I am way too fast to respond, I want to be the first person to respond, before I completely understanding the context.

And I noticed, that's not good. Initiative is good, but initiative without context is just overstepping.

I learned that.. before I speak, I give myself some pause just for 5 seconds. Five seconds for thinking:

1. Am I understanding the context?
2. Has the person already finished their words?
3. Does my response help to solve the problem?

If I haven't really got the context -> clarify, always clarify first.

Be initiative, but more precise.
